Bigger and Better

The 5th Annual Home and Garden Show, sponsored by the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce opened its doors to the public April 21st after a tremendous transformation to the stadium, which saw exhibitors constructing trade booths and even a small home.

There were 42 exhibitors for the 2012 show displaying everything from Watkins and Tupperware products to Husqvarna Lawn mowers and chainsaws.

An area was set aside to home two bouncy castles for the younger visitors and was handily located right next to the booth manned by Sprinkles the Clown from Kitscoty who specializes in balloon twisting.

Old favourites who returned this year to share their wares were; T Zone Health, 5th Avenue Jewellery, Enviro Club and Wild wood designs. New booths to the Home and Garden show were; Daroma, Jandel Homes, Polar Windows, Body by Vi and the Sunroom Superstore to name a few.

Chamber representative Anna Giesbrecht stated, “I am really impressed with the quantity and calibre of speakers this year.” The show hosted nine speakers, who offered advice and insights on; practical landscaping, garden path landscaping, interior decoration, artisan cheeses, prairie gardens, home décor, container gardening and lily production.

A steady stream of visitors brought approximately 1000 visitors to the show on its first day and even had VIP political visitors Danny Hozack stopped by on Saturday, Richard Starke and wife paid a visit to the show on Sunday and Richard Yacejko manned a booth during the event making himself available for questions from show patrons.

Visitors were eligible for one of 10 door prizes through out the event with a singular grand prize draw for a garden shed filled with tools drawn Sunday.
